Conwell Sellars Worthington, II attended East Carolina University and earned a B.F.A. degree in Management & Design Directing. He also focused on the University's B.M.A. program with a major in Voice & a minor in Piano. Throughout his 35 year career, as a producer, director, manager, and stage manager of live theatre and live entertainment throughout the country including on New York City's Broadway. He has worked and studied with Martin Charnin, Morton DeCosta, Jamie Hammerstein, Billy Hammerstein, Larry Kasha, Michael Kidd, Manny Kladitis, Mitch Leigh, Marsha Mason, James Nederlander, George Plimpton, Harold Prince, Jerome Robins, Richard Rodgers, Joe Ropso, Donald Sadler, Paul Sills, Leonard Soloway, Lee Strasberg, Fred Walker, Meredith Wilson, and Yuriko.  Currently producing Dirty Dancing,  The Love Boats on Stage, Pre-Broadway, Exit Laughing, a 6 character play Off-Broadway, Dusty, Henry Sweet Henry Tour. He recently completed the redesign and the opening of a new theatre in Orange County.  He consults with numerous theatres throughout the US and the world.   

In the early 1980's, he founded Coleman/Worthington Productions, a successful production company, specializing in producing, directing and creating theatre, concerts, and industrial in addition to spectacle theatre and concerts.  These have included such legends as Tony Bennett, Victor Borge, Robert Goulet, Lena Horne, Beverly Sills, Red Skelton, and others.

In 1988, Mr. Worthington was Manager of Show Development for The Walt Disney Company.  He continued to serve in that capacity until 1992 when he acted as Producer of Disney Attractions.  A year later, he served as Associate Producer then Producer of Walt Disney Theatrical Productions for the internationally run stage shows of "Beauty and the Beast." In addition, he had developed many halftime shows, major events, parades and the opening of the Ducks Of Anaheim, to mention a few of the events. 

Outside of Disney, Mr. Worthington was producer of numerous shows including associate producer of Sugar starring Robert Morse at the Music Centre in Los Angeles; producer of A, My Name is Alice, an off-Broadway production in San Francisco; The Glory of Christmas in Los Angeles starring Debby Boone, Dean Jones, and the London Symphony Orchestra; The Glory of Easter in Los Angeles starring Gregory Peck, Michael York, and Robert Reed; A Tribute to the Governor of the State of New York at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center in New York; A Tribute to Walter Cronkite at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City starring Carol Channing, Danny Kaye, and Ertha Kitt; The Doug Henning Show; The Night of the Iguana; Ferrante and Teicher; The Andy Williams Christmas Show; the Benefit for the Crystal Cathedral with Beverly Sills; the Benefit for the Hospital of Special Surgery; and the Benefit for South Coast Medical Center with Red Skelton. Developed for the City of Long Branch, NJ Operating and Producing for the Paramount Theatre as a part of the development of a new entertainment district a 200 million dollar project.  Remodeled and developed operations for the Encore Theatre, a new theatre in California, He recently opened a new theatre in Tustin CA, which featured dinner, major stage shows, and a comedy club.

Mr. Worthington has been Production Stage Manager for the Coconut Grove Playhouse, Florida; the Playhouse for the Stars in Florida; the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey; the Westchester Playhouse in New York; the Starlight Theatre in St. Louis; and the Music Hall in Detroit. He is currently Chairman of Cornerstone Entertainment International, Inc., and  President of J & B Theatrical Productions, LLC.

In addition to original dramatic and business theatre shows, we have collaborated with several film companies, adapting successful films into hit Broadway musicals. This has progressed naturally into work on feature films.
